North East Wales Institute of Higher Education (NEWI)

As a member of the University of Wales, the North East Wales Institute of Higher Education is rapidly developing into the major provider of university education in North Wales. It is a student centred organisation providing high quality teaching and is very proud of its strong links with the local communities. It has been highly praised for its commitment to opening up higher education to everyone and frequently appears at the top of league tables demonstrating its success in this area.


Yale College

Situated in the heart of Wrexham town centre, Yale College is a tertiary college with approximately 3,000 full-time and 8,000 part-time students. There are two campuses, one on Grove Park Road in the centre of Wrexham and another half a mile away on Bersham Road where the Engineering and Construction courses take place. The College also has some 13 outreach centres, many based in local schools, which have programmes of day-time and evening courses.


Open University in Wales

The Open University is one of the largest providers of part-time higher education in the UK. In almost every subject area, more people choose to study part-time with the OU than with any other university. For employers and individual students alike, whatever your learning and training needs, our local staff are available to provide information and advice to guide you onto the right course.
