Chester-Wrexham-Shrewsbury Line

The Chester-Shrewsbury Rail Partnership (external link) works closely with the train operators and has close links with the towns and villages it serves.

Its main objectives are

  • To work to develop fully the potential for passenger and freight traffic
  • To raise awareness of the rail service among local communities, businesses and the wider market

It employs a Community Rail Officer who can be contacted on 01691 772784 for more details on the work of the Partnership.

The line operates as an integral part of the North – South Wales rail route between Holyhead and Cardiff as well as the Chester – Birmingham services both operated under the All Wales Rail Franchise.
