Fire Authorities in Wales

North Wales Fire Authority

North Wales Fire Authority provides Fire Fighting, Rescue and Fire Safety Services for a population of 655, 000 over a geographical area of 2,500 square miles.

South Wales Fire Authority

The South Wales Fire Service was formed in April 1996 as a result of the amalgamation of the former Mid Glamorgan, South Glamorgan and Gwent fire brigades.

Mid and West Wales Fire Authority

The Mid and West Wales Fire Brigade covers some 4,500 square miles and makes-up almost two thirds of the landmass of the Principality of Wales.

The Chief and Assistant Chief Fire Officers' Association (CACFOA) is the foremost official organisation for principal fire officers in the UK.
