Wrexham Trading Standards Trustmark Approved Trader Scheme

Wrexham County Borough Council’s Trading Standards Team provides an Approved Trader Scheme for the area. The Scheme allows you to find a tradesman to carry out repair, maintenance or improvement work on your property who has been approved under the TrustMark standard.

Consumer Direct

Consumer Direct is a telephone and online consumer advice service, supported by the Office of Fair Trading. We provide clear, practical, impartial advice to help you sort out problems and disagreements you may be having with suppliers of goods or services. From overcharging to faulty goods, from dodgy workmanship to reporting dishonest traders and scams, our advisers are ready to offer solutions for individual problems.

Consumer Focus Wales

Consumer Focus is the new statutory organisation campaigning for a fair deal for consumers in England, Wales, Scotland, and, for postal services, Northern Ireland. We will be the voice of the consumer, and work to secure a fair deal on their behalf. We were created through the merger of three consumer organisations – energywatch, Postwatch and the National Consumer Council (including the Welsh and Scottish Consumer Councils). The new approach allows for more joined-up consumer advocacy, with a single organisation speaking with a powerful voice and able to more readily bring cross-sector expertise to issues of concern.

Citizens Advice Bureau

The Citizens Advice Bureau Service offers free, confidential, impartial and independent advice.

Community Legal Advice

Community Legal Advice provides free information, help and advice direct to the public on a range of common legal issues via a national helpline (0845 345 4 345).

Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs

Defra works for the essentials of life - food, air, land, water, people, animals and plants.

UK Dept for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS - formerly known as BERR)

Offers information on a range of services provided by the Department of Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform specifically to help small businesses.

Equality and Human Rights Commission

The Equality and Human Rights Commission champions equality and human rights for all, working to eliminate discrimination, reduce inequality, protect human rights and to build good relations, ensuring that everyone has a fair chance to participate in society.

Europa is the portal site of the European Union. It provides up-to-date coverage of European Union affairs and essential information on European integration. Users can also consult all legislation currently in force or under discussion, access the websites of each of the EU institutions and find out about the policies administered by the European Union under the powers devolved to it by the Treaties.

Food Standards Agency

The Food Standards Agency is an independent food safety watchdog set up by an Act of Parliament in 2000 to protect the public's health and consumer interests in relation to food.

Legal Services Commission (LSC)

We look after legal aid in England and Wales. We're also responsible for ensuring that people get the information, advice and legal help they need to deal with a wide range of everyday problems.
