Village Halls Fund

Wrexham County Borough Council is inviting grant applications from village halls within the County, through which your hall could receive up to £2,500.

In 2008/09, the Fund has £17,500 to distribute, with the minimum award being £250 and the maximum £2,500, which can be granted to voluntary organisations and used for equipment, building repairs and items of lasting benefit (e.g. energy saving measures). The awards cannot be made to cover staffing costs or general appeals/sponsorship.

Applications must be submitted by properly constituted management committees/trustees administering village halls within Wrexham County Borough. Town or Village Halls operated by Community Councils are eligible to apply. Church Halls and other meeting places will be considered, providing that there is no other village hall or community centre within that community. In all cases, the appropriate application form should be completed.

Current applications should be submitted by 18 July 2008.

Only one award will be made to each organisation.

When are grants awarded?

The Council invites grant applications on an annual basis. Current applications should be submitted by 18 July 2008. Applicants are informed of the outcome during August and are expected to have expended the grant by 31 January 2009.
