What publicity brochures do the Tourism Department provide?

There are two main tourism brochures: North Wales Borderlands covering the wider geographic area and Real Wrexham which is a dedicated visitor guide to the whole County Borough. Both have a wide distribution and advertising rates are available by contacting the Tourism Department on 01978 292010 or tourism@wrexham.gov.uk.

You can request a hard copy or download one from the respective websites www.borderlands.co.uk (for the North Wales Borderlands brochure), or www.wrexham.gov.uk (for the Real Wrexham brochure). Real Wrexham is also available in Welsh.

'What's On?'
In addition the Department also produces a comprehensive 'What's On?' booklet giving details of events being held within the County Borough. This is bilingual and produced quarterly. If you wish to include an event in the guide use the online form on this website or ring tourism on 01978 292010. To obtain a copy email tic@wrexham.gov.uk where you can also request to be added to the mailing list. The guide is also available at a wide selection of venues across the County Borough.

Are there any tourism statistics available?

The Tourism Department at Wrexham County Borough Council co-ordinates an ongoing research programme for North Wales called STEAM. The project aims to evaluate the volume and value of tourism and gathers information on visitor numbers and occupancy rates for all tourism operators across North Wales.A summary of the results is available on the Council's Website through the Tourism pages.

Does the council provide grants for tourism businesses?

WCBC does not have a specific grants programme for tourism - contact should be made to Wales Tourist Board on 01745 589024 or via their website www.wtbonline.gov.uk.

How to obtain white on brown signage for venues within the County Borough.

Forms are available from the Transport Department on 01978 297139 but advice on eligibilty is available from the Tourism section on 01978 292010 or tourism@wrexham.gov.uk.

How do I find accommodation?

Contact the Tourist Information Centre on 01978 292015. They retain an up to date list of all graded accommodation in the area and are able to book information on your behalf both locally and across the UK.
