Assessment Framework For Children In Need & Their Families

 

Information for Professionals

The National Assembly for Wales (NAW) have produced the 'Framework for the Assessment of Children in Need and their Families' (2001) to confirm their commitment to delivering better life chances to disadvantaged and vulnerable children. More commonly known as the 'Assessment Framework' it is intended to provide a foundation for policy and practice for all professionals who manage and provide services to children in need and their families. It is also intended to facilitate a proactive approach to service delivery and develop corporate and inter-agency responsibilities and working and is reflected in the NAW document 'Working Together to Safeguard Children' (2000)

A series of leaflets have been produced to explain the Assessment Framework to children, young people, parents, carer's and professionals. Each leaflet has contact details if you require more information. Full copies of the leaflet can be downloaded by using the hyperlink at the bottom of this document.
