Classical Orchestral Masterworks perform at the William Aston Hall!

BBC National Orchestra of Wales will return to Wrexham as part of their North Wales Tour and perform a selection of tantalizing music from the world's greatest composers on Saturday 5 November at 7.30pm.

Pudsey Returns to Rock Wrexham!

BBC Wales has confirmed that its main BBC Children in Need concert will return to Wrexham this year, on Friday, November 18, for another star-studded night of music, entertainment and fun.

Secondary School Meals in Wrexham - A healthy option?

Wrexham Council, together with AVOW and the health authorities, is working to improve the health of the local population, particularly with regard to reducing the levels of coronary heart disease and obesity. A key area that is being focused on is nutrition, as this can play a large part in preventing such conditions.

Plas Madoc People's Millions Success

Plas Madoc has beaten nearly 100 other entries and been short listed as a finalist in the national People's Millions competition, run by the Big Lottery and ITV. The prize at stake is a grant of £50,000 to benefit the local community.

Local community groups have the opportunity to explore what funding streams may be available to them at a Funding Fayre, being held at Brynteg Memorial Centre on Thursday 20th October between 10am-4pm.

Opening of Re-Creations Exhibition

For the first time in almost 170 years, the Mold Cape is on public display in North Wales. The cape forms the centrepiece of the exhibition Re-Creations Visualizing our Past at Wrexham County Borough Museum.

A sculpture to mark the industrial mining years of a former colliery was unveiled at Bonc yr Hafod Country Park on 21st September at 4.00 pm by the Mayor of Wrexham, Cllr Mike Edwards.

New Cold Calling Protocol in Fight against Bogus Callers

Wrexham Council’s Housing & Public Protection Department, North Wales Police and Dee Valley Water have jointly signed the National Doorstep Cold Calling Protocol for the Wrexham County Borough area. The aim is to give improved protection to vulnerable people and to impede the activities of unscrupulous bogus callers who carry out burglaries.

A recent survey of council tenants has revealed an interesting insight into what issues are important to them. The findings by ORC International will be presented to members of the Executive Board at its meeting on Tuesday, September 20, 2005.

Chance to be Heard in the Debate about the Future of Public Access in the Countryside

Wrexham Local Access Forum has been meeting for 3 years and Wrexham County Borough Council is now required under the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000 to advertise for suitable members to serve the Forum for the next 3 years. Existing members may apply for a further term.

Wrexham County Borough Council has scooped two more major awards for its website. The site's ease of use and accessibility to people with disabilities meant it fought off strong competition from the private, public and voluntary organisations.

A new Road Show aptly named "Impact" which graphically demonstrates the damage that can be inflicted to the human body during a car crash was launched on Queen's Square, Wrexham on Saturday.

Consultants, commissioned by Wrexham County Borough Council, have been working in Ruabon to establish a development strategy for the village. You may have seen the consultants undertaking their research over the last few weeks.
