WW2 Commemorative Exhibition

The sixtieth anniversary of the end of the Second World War will be commemorated by a groundbreaking new exhibition, Their Past Your Future to be shown at Wrexham Arts Centre, 10 September – 22 October.

Nearly 1400 Year 11 pupils in Wrexham will be receiving their examination results today.

Voices Around the Aqueduct

As the summer holidays come to an end there is one event that people of all ages can take part in at Ty Mawr Country Park on Tuesday 30th August. "Voices Around the Aqueduct" will take people on a delightful walk around the Trevor Basin accompanied by storytellers Amy Douglas and Fiona Collins who will recount local memories and traditional folk stories as the walk goes on.

Sixth Form Students Shine

Students in Wrexham Schools have received excellent A level and AS level results. Although not all the results have been analysed yet, early indications suggests an overall pass rate of 96.8%.

Bridge Street/Brook Street Roadworks

Wrexham Council will be undertaking resurfacing works on Brook Street and Bridge Street in Wrexham from 26th August as part of the environmental improvement scheme.

The Alyn Waters Environmental Education Centre was officially opened today by the Mayor of Wrexham, Cllr Mike Edwards. The showcase building was designed using the most modern and sustainable techniques available to have a minimal affect on the environment.

AVOW Launches New Website

AVOW (Association of Voluntary Organisations in Wrexham) will be holding an official launch party for their new website on Wednesday 20 July at Ty Avow. They would like anyone involved with a voluntary organisation to come along and join them at this event. The formal launch will be between 11.30 and 12 noon, and food and fun will follow between 12 and 2pm. There will also be a chance to surf the website and find out at first hand how easy it is to use.

Mold Cape to be seen in North East Wales

Culture Minister Alun Pugh has announced that the Mold Cape, one of the treasures of the British Museum, will be seen in north-east Wales for the first time since its discovery, for a special exhibition at Wrexham County Borough Museum.
