Live 8 Car Parking and Road Closure Notification

The Live 8 Concert screening on Queens Square on July 2nd will cause limited disruption to town centre car parking.

Real Nappy Week

Now in its ninth year, Real Nappy Week 2005 (June 20-26) is supported by over 80% of local authorities, with over 100 activities planned across 40 UK counties. And for the first time the Week has gone global.

Applications Invited for the Welsh Church Acts Fund

Last September Wrexham Council awarded grants totalling£8,155 from the Welsh Church Acts Fund. These grants were awarded to 21 organisations seeking assistance for the cost of equipment or specific projects such as renovation works.

Diversity Festival in Queen's Square

Refugee Week Wales takes place next week (20 - 26th June) In Wrexham, Queen's Square will host a mini festival event on Wednesday 22nd June between 1.00 and 4.00 complete with musical performances, an opportunity to sample international cuisine, various trading stalls and information stalls.

Wrexham to Screen Live 8 Concert

World famous acts including Robbie Williams, Madonna, Sir Paul McCartney, Coldplay, Sir Elton John, Kean, Joss Stone and REM will appear on a giant screen in Queen’s Square on July 2nd after it was announced that Wrexham will screen the Live 8 concert.

New Mayor Looks Forward to Challenging Year Ahead

Wrexham's new Mayor is Cllr Mike Edwards and his wife, Kay, takes on the role of Mayoress for the next 12 months. In his speech to Annual Council the Mayor promises an exciting time for the County Borough. Two 200 anniversaries will be celebrated, the Battle of Trafalgar and the completion of Telford's Aqueduct at Pontcysyllte.
