320,000 pounds for ICT in Primary School

Wrexham Council have announced the completion of a major leasing scheme, costing approximately 320,000 pounds, to boost Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in primary schools.

Parking Attendants Ready for Work in Wrexham

Wrexham Council will be responsible for managing parking enforcement throughout the County Borough from Saturday 1st March and the six parking attendants employed to issue fixed penalty notices made their debut today.

Completing the Jigsaw at Eagles Meadow

The final piece of steelwork is erected to form Eagles Meadow shopping and leisure destination. Members of Wilson Bowden Developments together with their development partners from Wrexham County Borough Council will met on the site of Eagles Meadow to celebrate the final piece of the jigsaw fitting in to place.

Llay Community Centre Refurbishment Nears Completion

A range of works to improve facilities at Llay Community Centre is nearly complete. The works have seen the installation of new double glazed windows and doors, a new disabled access ramp into the building and the relocation and enhancement of the disabled toilet facilities.

The Mayor, Cllr Joan Lowe, recently unveiled the new Wrexham IteC logo at a ceremony which also marked the beginning of Wrexham ITeC’s 25th anniversary year.

Social Services Questionnaire

As part of the programme of continuous improvement Wrexham Adult Social Care Department sent out in November 2007, some 750 questionnaires to people receiving services from the Department. Service users were randomly chosen, the questionnaires were closely based on a format used by the Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales (CSSIW) and were sent out bilingually.

Wrexham Community Safety Partnership has launched their Under aged Drinking Campaign. The Partnership is taking a zero tolerance approach to under aged drinking in the County Borough.

MLA Accreditation for Wrexham Museum

Welsh Assembly Government Heritage Minister, Rhodri Glyn Thomas, visited Wrexham County Borough Museum to present staff with the official MLA (Museum, Libraries and Archives Council) Accreditation Certificate and to formally open a thought provoking exhibition “Everywhere in Chains: Wales & Slavery”, which will be in Wrexham until the beginning of April.
