St David's Day Celebrations in Wrexham Town Centre

St David’s Day will be celebrated in Wrexham town centre this year with a number of activities taking place on Queens Square. Wrexham County Borough Council’s Economic Development Department have organised the event to raise awareness of Wales’ Patron Saint’s day on Thursday March 1st.

Waste Management Project Set to Move Forward

Waste management in Wrexham is set to enter the 21st Century if proposals to fund a brand new multi million pound recycling facility receives the go ahead by Executive Board today (Tuesday 27th February).

The Wrexham Fairtrade Coalition will once again be supporting the national initiative of Fairtrade Fortnight with a number of events across the County Borough between the 26th February and the 11th of March.

Walkabout Projects Celebrate Secured Funding

Thousands of people from across Wrexham and Flintshire can continue to benefit their health with the announcement that the Big Lottery Fund has awarded Groundwork Wrexham & Flintshire with £437,037 to develop physical activity and walking opportunities across both counties.

Recycle with Michael Scheme Extended

Wrexham Council is to extend its successful Recycle with Michael kerbside recycling scheme to a further 4,000 households in the County Borough. Green bins, plastic boxes and bags will be delivered to households over the next two weekends with the first collection of recyclables on 26th February.

Rat Population on the Increase

A national increase in the number of rats reported has prompted Wrexham Council's Public Protection Service to advise residents how to avoid attracting rats to their properties and who to contact for treatments if they do decide to move in.
