Fine for Failing to Wear Private Hire Badges

At Wrexham Magistrates Court recently, two people were each fined £150 and ordered to pay a total of £150 in costs for failing to wear a Private Hire Drivers Badge. A further driver was fined £150 with £70 awarded in costs for not being currently licensed.

Housing Transfer Proposals Ballot

Wrexham Council will decide on Thursday night (February 5th) whether or not to ballot tenants on the housing transfer proposals.

Northern Marches Cymru helping develop Ruabon and Holt

Two community conferences will be held next month where residents will have their say on how they see Ruabon and Holt improving and progressing over the next few years. A similar event will be held in each of Wrexham’s rural communities over the year.

Yellow Pages Recycling

Yellow Pages have informed Wrexham Council that they are about to start delivering new copies of their directory to households across the County Borough. This can cause problems with recycling.

Road Saftey Around Wrexham

Throughout Wrexham County Borough there are 48 locations which have facilities to help people cross the road safely. The types of crossings used are zebra, pelican, toucan and signalised crossings which, as the name suggests, operate in conjunction with traffic signals. There are however particular features that are a help to disabled persons.

Pontecysyllte Aqueduct awarded £657,375

The Pontcysyllte Aqueduct will be looking good when it celebrates its 200th birthday in 2005 after being awarded £657,375 towards the cost of restoration and provision of an information centre.
