Refugee/Asylum Seekers display at Wrexham Library

Wrexham Library is featuring a display to mark Refugee Week this week. Wrexham photographer Chris Ryder dispells several myths about refugees and asylum seekers and panels such as Facts and Fibs describe the processes and restrictions that asulym seekers face. Do they jump the housing queue? How do they afford mobile phones and nice leather jackets? The display provides an explanation.

hris Ryder, from Wrexham, has undertaken photo assignments throughout the world and has visited Afghanistan, Bosnia and several African countries covering conflict and famine issues. His photographs in the display feature a series of suitcases, their significance being that refugees and asylum seekers are limited to 2 cases or bags per person when they enter Home Office accommodation.

The display will be at Wrexham Library until Saturday, 21st June.
