Completing the Jigsaw at Eagles Meadow
The final piece of steelwork is erected to form Eagles Meadow shopping and leisure destination.
Members of Wilson Bowden Developments together with their development partners from Wrexham County Borough Council will meet on the site of Eagles Meadow today, to celebrate the final piece of the jigsaw fitting in to place.
Since construction commenced on the site of the former car park, Eagles Meadow has been transforming the skyline in Wrexham and today this 400,000 sq ft shopping and leisure development reaches its first major milestone as the final piece of steelwork to create the framework for the development is put in to place.
The crane that has also dominated the skyline for some months will be moving the final piece of steelwork in to place at 3.30pm today, on lookers will see the steel frame moved in to position on the roof of the development structure.
 Will Robinson, Development Director for Wilson Bowden Developments said;
“Today we are celebrating a milestone towards the completion of this landmark new development in Wrexham, as Eagles Meadow starts to take shape with the timely progress of construction to reach this stage; we are on schedule to open in the autumn. Now is an exciting time for us and for Wrexham, Eagles Meadow is set to transform shopping and leisure for the town.

“This is the culmination of a great achievement and although there is still a way to go before completion of this outstanding development it will ensure Wrexham is moving towards a being a significant retail centre in the UK.”

“We are delighted with the progress of work on site at Eagles Meadow, everyone on site has worked incredibly hard to progress to this stage of development despite the adverse weather conditions we have experienced over the last few months”
Eagles Meadow will open in the autumn host to Wrexham’s first department store; Debenhams. Marks and Spencers, Next and H&M will also open large new stores within the development. Eagles Meadow will also play host to a number of leisure focussed operators including; Tenpin 24 lane bowling centre, and Odeon cinemas.
