Do you need funding for Sport & Physical Activity?

COMMUNITY CHEST is a Sports Council for Wales National Lottery grant funded scheme that is designed to encourage more people to become physically active more often.

The maximum grant awarded is £1,000, however if you are a club then you are eligible to use £1,000 for club development and also apply for a further £1,000 for physical activity/health initiatives within your club.

The grants can be used to support amongst other things:

  • Walking or cycling projects
  • Projects to encourage employees to become more physically active
  • Recruitment and development of volunteers, leaders and coaches e.g. first aid courses or governing body awards
  • Extending existing sports clubs to provide new activities
  • Parent recreational session whilst their children are training in a club session
  • Equipment and facility hire as start up costs for a new activity (20 weeks maximum)

Closing date for April applications is Wednesday 4th April 2007 with the panel meeting on Wednesday 18th April 2007.
