Benjamin Road Set for Footway Improvements
Wrexham Council has identified improving the County Borough's pavements as one if its main priorities for this year and Members and Officers have seen for themselves the improvements that are taking place on the final phase of the work.
They visited Benjamin Road where part of it is undergoing £20,000 worth of reconstruction work . This area is also part of Wrexham Council's Housing Renewal areas and when construction work to walls has taken place the remainder of the pavments will be completed as part of an ongoing improvement programme
In total an additional £100,000 has been spent on improvements this financial year.
Cllr Bob Dutton, Deputy Leader of the Council said:
"This is evidence of the Council's commitment to improving the County's infrastructure. However, owing to Government restraints on spending and other commitments of the Authority including looking after the interests of older people and education we cannot move ahead as fast as we would like at the present time."

Other areas to see improved pavements are Victory Place in Llay, Heol Wen in Coedpoeth, Redland Close in Gresford, Eldon Grove in Rhostyllen, Berwyn Drive in Marchwiel, Laurels Avenue in Bangor on Dee, Delfryn in Penycae and Henry Street in Ruabon.
