BBC NOW Returns to Wrexham
The BBC National Orchestra of Wales is returning to Wrexham on Saturday 13th November. As the autumn nights draw in BBC NOW are on hand to brighten your November evening with a concert at NEWI William Aston Hall starting at 7.30pm.
The orchestra will be conducted by principal conductor Richard Hickox, and will be joined by soprano Gail Pearson for a programme called The Classical Touch.
Full of humour and energy and reputed to be his own favourite, Beethoven called his Eighth Symphony "my little symphony". It is heard here alongside the beauty and high spirits of Mozart in Exsultate Jubilate and Stravinsky's dazzling tribute to Bach, the Concerto Dumbarton Oaks . Gail Pearson joins the orchestra for Mozart's Exsultate Jubilate and Hoddinott's A Contemplation Upon Flowers.
