Council consults local people on Race Equality Scheme
Wrexham County Borough Council is seeking the views of local people on what they feel the race equality and race relations issues are for Wrexham as part of a consultation exercise to inform their revised Race Equality Scheme.
Wrexham County Borough Council is seeking the views of local people on what they feel the race equality and race relations issues are for Wrexham as part of a consultation exercise to inform their revised Race Equality Scheme. The Council is keen to hear what local people feel the Council could do to promote equality of opportunity, combat discrimination and promote good community relations between persons of different racial groups in Wrexham.
The Race Relations Amendment Act sets out legal duties which require the Council to publish a Race Equality Scheme every three years from 2001. This is the Council’s second scheme.
Equality Manager, Celia Gibson says “The Council places equality of opportunity at the heart of everything we do as an employer and service provider. The views and comments of local people will help to shape this important scheme and will inform the Councils approach to race equality in the future.”
The Council has published its revised Race Equality Scheme for the next three years and warmly welcomes the comments and views of local people.
