Homes Above Retail Premises (HARPS) Grants

For many years Wrexham has been successful in converting under used space within commercial premises for residential use.  Originally these were limited to the Town Centre of Wrexham but subsequently this has been extended to Strategic Schemes in the Chirk and Cefn Mawr areas.

Policy

A Grant will be available to commercial owners of properties within the Town Centre of Wrexham, Centre of Chirk and Cefn Mawr and any other strategic scheme decided by the Council.  The scheme must comply with minimum space standards agreed by the Council.

Eligibility

Owners of commercial premises for the conversion of space not presently being used for residential use and that falls within the boundary of the relevant scheme.

Conditions

A condition period of 5 years will be in place after completion of the scheme.
