The most recent survey sought views concerning the Registration Service (responsible for such things as maintaining registers of births, deaths, marriages, changes of names and conducting civil marriage ceremonies) and also the perception of Crime in the Borough and Town Centre.
Information on what these results mean to the services you can expect to receive from the Registration Service

1 in 10 of respondents have used the Registration Service and 9 out of 10 respondents are satisfied with the overall service received from the registration service.

2 out of 3 of respondents would prefer to register births face - to - face. Of this 63% of respondents would prefer a 'Drop - In' Centre and as much as half of respondents feel that the Register Office being open on a Sunday for marriages would be beneficial.

9 out of 10 of respondents stated that they feel either very safe or fairly safe when out and about in the Borough. 94% feel either very safe or fairly safe when in the town centre on a weekday.

50% of respondents felt that crime has generally stayed the same, whereas 37% of respondents think that crime in the Borough has got worse!
- 1 in 3 of respondents said they feel very safe or fairly safe around the Borough at night.
