Workplace Health

The Corporate Standard for Workplace Health

The Corporate Standard is a national mark of quality for health promotion in the workplace. It is awarded by the Health Promotion Division of the National Assembly, to those workplaces that have demonstrated a commitment to improving the health of their workforce.

Workplaces demonstrate their commitment by recognising the impact that the organisation can have on individuals; creating a supportive environment;providing information; and having policies and practices which assist employees to make healthy choices.

A Local Health Alliance ‘workplace health sub-group’ was set up so that major employers in Wrexham could assist each other in developing health in the workplace and aim to attain the Corporate Standard for Workplace Health. The group members being :

  • North East Wales NHS Trust

  • Wrexham County Borough Council

  • NEWI
