Breastfeeding LogoThere is increasing evidence that breast fed children suffer less from a range of childhood ailments and are less likely to suffer from heart disease and some forms of cancers in later life.

The Wrexham Breast Feeding Development Group aims to promote breast feeding as a healthy choice, and in addition to encouraging to develop a breast feeding policy, the group also leads on an initiative known as the breast feeding friendly register. Essentially, this is a network of shops, banks, council offices and leisure centres that support women who breast feed.

Wrexham Local Health Alliance has funded £600 to this group to redesign and publish leaflets which list those premises which are breast feeding friendly.
